Part One: Set Your Educational Goals
My primary educational goal in the Computer Science program is to master the skills necessary to develop and deploy both apps and games, ultimately enabling me to establish a successful independent career. I envision creating a portfolio of innovative and marketable apps using languages like Swift and game engines like Unity. By honing my expertise in these spaces, I aim to generate a steady income and achieve the freedom of working for myself. This goal excites me because it combines my passion for coding and creativity with the practical aspiration of financial independence and professional autonomy.
Part Two: Set Your Career Goals
My career goal is to become a proficient software developer specializing in mobile applications and game development. I look forward to working with the most relevant formats, such as Swift for iOS development and Unity for game creation. My ultimate ambition is to establish my own company where I can innovate and bring unique app and game ideas to life. I aim to create a sustainable business model that not only provides a steady income but also fosters a dynamic and creative work environment. This goal motivates me because it aligns with my passion for technology and my desire for entrepreneurial independence.
Part Three: Take a wild guess of your percentile of the ETS Computer Science test
The ETS Computer Science exam assesses a comprehensive range of computer science knowledge and problem-solving skills. It's tough to predict exactly where I'll stand on the test at this point. Given what I already know and what I plan to learn over the next 18 months, I'm aiming for at least the 80-90th percentile. I’m committed to putting in the effort, taking advantage of the program to its fullest extent, and hopefully diving into some of my own projects. With hard work and a solid study plan I believe I can achieve this goal.
Part Four: Keep Up With Your Learning Journal
This week was filled with significant discussions and insights in our computer science journey. Chatting with peers we delved into the impact of AI on our future careers. My argument emphasizes that AI should primarily serve as a tool to aid rather than replace. Ethics was a big topic this week as we wrote our Ethics Argument Essay Outline. My topic focuses on the effects of loot boxes on developers and gamers. Learning about the ETS Computer Science Test grounded us in the reality of our academic path while setting goals reminded us of our personal aspirations guiding this academic journey.
